Departing into a deserted place...

Wednesday September 1st 2021
22nd Week of Ordinary Time
Luke 4:42-44

Getting ready to return to life as usual
eager to re-enter
to be grounded in real life

The pray-as-you-go begins with:

"It is exhausting being devoured by other people's needs."

Jesus went to a deserted place to rejuvenate and replenish his inner resources.
Where do I go?
I am going home now
Home for me is a replenishing place.

The crowds don't want him to leave.

I have felt that sometimes.
like when I am in the presence of someone I just don't want to leave
someone I just can't get enough of

He departed and went into a deserted place.

He took care.

I have opportunities to do both as well
To rest at home...but thoughtfully and prayerfully
And then to be off...
and to respond to God's call to employ and activate those resources he gave to me for the purpose of being a sign of his love and care for all of creation.

It is conscious and deliberate prayer that is my weakness.
For this I call upon God and all those saints for whom the life of prayer was the highest calling.

Prayer-Warrior Saints of God,
Pray for me.
