I
suppose it is a good day to glance back
…to glance back in Matthew’s Gospel to the
Beatitudes.
It
is good because sometimes
Anti-Beatitude seems stronger than
Beatitude.
Rejoice and be glad is hard for me
today.
I
want to focus on
Hope
and comfort
Promise
and presence
I
hate that it is so hard
But
I can get specific
It
is easier to get specific
To
remember the Saints
whose holy lives touched mine this past year
It
is my way into Beatitude
