Friday of Week 27 in Ordinary Time
Joel 1:13-15, 2:1-2
It's comforting to know that "the end is near" is a continuous cry of the prophets. Even though the end of the world didn't come Wednesday (was it Wednesday?) like the Blood Moon prophets warned, I will not dismiss their herald.
Like the patient suddenly faced with his own mortality, "the end is near" has a way of reminding us to DO all those things we keep putting off…things that have ultimate significance. What if that were my lens, my daily lens as I triage my day's decisions?
